November 3, 2016:
NASA and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have held three asteroid-impact “tabletop” exercises to simulate what NASA and FEMA would do in the event that observers discover an asteroid that is on a certain impact course with Earth. The first exercise took place in 2013, and the report on that exercise is available on this web site. The report on the second exercise in 2014 is now available here. A report on the third exercise, which took place October 25, 2016, is in preparation. I will post the report on this exercise on this site as soon as it’s available.
